Well the past 4 years have flown by, I look and him and he still looks like a baby to me but he really is growing up. He has his own opinions, interest, sense of humor, taste in music etc. He's is the funniest person I've ever met in my life and surprises me every morning. I am so thankful that out of all the moms in the world God gave him to me.

One if his interests that began completely separate from me is Star Wars. I had never really watched the movies until he asked to see them and now I like Star Wars too. For his fourth birthday party he wanted to have a "gross party" all about well gross stuff. I really did not want to have a gross party so I pulled rank and threw out the idea of a Star Wars party and he was really into the idea so Star Wars it is.

I found a picture of Darth Vader online and carved my own stamp. I bought pre-made silver cards and envelopes at Michaels and stamped them in black ink. I came up with a clever phrase for the cover and printed it on red computer paper, and glued it on the front. Sidenote: I could only buy a huge pack of red printer paper so every assignment for the rest of my college career will be handed in on red paper.

I am keeping up with the tradition of making Tony a birthday shirt but this time I made him pants too. I used freezer paper stencil for the shirt and whipped up some simple pants with Darth Vader fabric at the cuffs. His Uncle Benny, the amazing graphic designer, made him this amazing r2d2 cut out for his birthday. We kept him out so he could join in the festivities.

We had the party in our backyard this year which was a huge relief. Not only was it so much simpler to have the kitchen right here, Tony was on his turf and all the kids got to play on the awesome playhouse he got for his 3rd birthday. We also rented a bounce house which kept him busy before, during, and after th party. I honestly would like any excuse to rent a bounce house *amazing*

He received loads of Star Wars gear which was his favorite part. I haven't sent out thank yous but I just want everyone to know how thankful we are that you were part of his day.

Here is my sad attempt at a cake. I really wanted to get a Wilton r2d2 cake pan but they were ridiculous on ebay so I thought I could think of something. I decided to make r2d2's head. I baked the cake in a bowl and mixed up grey and blue icing and went for it. It kind of looks like r2d2's head on a platter. Also, I asked my brother to take a picture of the cake so I take no responsibility for the sad looking thing with stuff strewn about it.

I'm finally posting some more pictures from our Phoenix vacation. We took Tony to the Phoenix Zoo and it was amazing as far as zoos go. Tony was still not feeling very good so we didn't stay very long but I think he had some fun.

It's really convenient to live so close to a children's museum. Whenever it's too wet or cold (or hot) to play outside we can always go play at the museum. Tony's favorite part is the "inside your body" exhibit. It still makes me proud every time he puts the organs in the body all by himself!

There is nothing worse than leaving your cozy warm bed on a snowy, hail-filled, wet day in the winter...

The Polar Express

Polarexpress3

My parents got Tony tickets for the polar express in Arizona for Christmas this year. He loved it even though he was super sick (we found out after a trip to the emergency clinic that he had a severe ear infection in both ears), the train went around the grand canyon and to the "north pole." Santa boarded the train and gave everyone bells, we sang carols and had hot chocolate and cookies. It was all very festive and fun.

Frosty

Snowman1

Tony has been all about Frosty (and Rudolph) this winter and he was really excited when Grandma suggested they build a snowman together. Poor snowman, he didn't last for too long but he was a joy to see on our way out the gate while he was here.

Superman Is Not Brave

My little guys is all about the super heroes lately. He loves spider-man, underdog, and (maybe) most of all Superman. He loves costumes and pj's and his fave pj's are a comination of both. His Uncle Benny helps him fly about the house so he can save the day.

But shortly before Chrsitmas he learned that he can't fly on his own.

He had to get two staples or "robot parts" as we told him. He also learned that Superman doesn't have to be brave because he can't get hurt like little boys can.

Gingerbread Train

I picked this gingerbread train up at Target for Tony and his grandma to make while I was at class and my mom took these amazing pictures. He loved it and it got us all pumped about Christmas, even if it collapsed shortly after completion.
