Birthday Mail

Dsc01987_2

I sold my first library bag (YAY!!!) to the lovely Carra for her lovely Adele. I sent some goodies with the bag for the birthday girl. I found the amazing vintage snowsuit at an estate sale a while back and was just hoping to find a little girl who could wear it. It still has the tags! I also found the mushroom dress at Vintage Baby I love the colors and the fabric. Of course I had to include a book, one of my all time faves The Little House. If you haven't read it you must, it is beautifully written with amazing illustrations.

Thank You Carra!

Today is my Birthday - No. 24

Day17

Day14_2

I headed out to Colorado last weekend to celebrate my birthday a little early this year. I was really missing my friends and so it was the best birthday present ever. I was hoping I would fall in love with the area so that I would want to move there, but no such luck. It's a nice place but not my style, my heart belongs to the east coast. On my 16th birthday (8 years ago whew that makes me feel a little old) my parents took me to NYC for my dream vacation. I ate Gray's Papaya hotdogs, saw The Lion King on Broadway and spent an eternity staring at FIT dreaming about getting to go to school there. I decided that someday I would live in New England and I don't think I've ever wanted to live anywhere else. But my best buds are in Colorado so a big chunk of my heart is there as well, and the hot dogs aren't bad either. Click on the thumbnails to see the pictures!!!

Day12 Day14 Day15

On the morning of my second day there Ashley and I stopped at the Mile High Flea Market across the street from my hotel. We had big dreams of vintage goods but it was mostly creepy lingerie and cheap knockoffs but I did get Tony some sweet Transformers t-shirts. It was hotter than the surface of the sun which forced us to buy some pretty awesome head gear and Ashley picked up some sunglasses from a lady with Ghostbuster slime fingernails. We made up for the lack of treasures by thrift shopping away the rest of the day and finding some pretty excellent cassettes for my sweet Taurus. Salt-n-Peppa and Tone Loc became the sound track for the rest of my vacation.

The rest of my little vacation was spent celebrating my birthday. mmm carrot cake with cream cheese frosting! On my last day in town we ate at Paris on the Platte yum! and went to the Tattered Cover book store.

Day31 Day32 Day42_2

The whole trip was awesome, it was like Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey except that my robot clone from the future didn't kill me and I didn't have to escape from hell and save the world by competing in the battle of the bands...

What A Doll

Babyfeeder

After hearing that she loved baby dolls and all things domestic, I just had to make something for my dear friend Stacy's daughter Sophia for her birthday. As a child, I too drooled over all the domestic toys at the toy store. On my second birthday I got the most fabulous pink iron and ironing board, on my sixth birthday my favorite gift was a basket full of toy groceries. I coveted the little dirt devil that actually worked but alas never recieved one of those. My heart still thumps when I walk past the aisles that house these wonderful things to get to the boys toys, and I really loved buying doll diapers and a "magic disappearing liquid bottle" for my little kindred spirit Sophia to keep in her very own, toddler size, nappy bag. In true Emily style it was late but sent with much love.

Shout Out

Just needed to give a shout out to some friends.

First to Mrs. Deb Cory. This is the bag with the boomerang embroidery I mentioned:

this was the fifth one in the group. 1  2-3  4. Only the blue ones didn't go. If you think that your friend would like it let me know. I started your yellow bag after finding the perfect fabric in my stash. Let me know if you want changing pads.

My second shout out is to Carra. I tried to email you but it didn't go through. Thank you so much for your comment and I agree that we need to be friends. I really wanted to come to the rummage party but I have to work. bummer. The next time I am in town we will have to get together.

I also want to say thank you to everyone who liked my stockings. I will post all of the finished ones before I put them on etsy so that you can call dibs!
