Birthday Mail

I sold my first library bag (YAY!!!) to the lovely Carra for her lovely Adele. I sent some goodies with the bag for the birthday girl. I found the amazing vintage snowsuit at an estate sale a while back and was just hoping to find a little girl who could wear it. It still has the tags! I also found the mushroom dress at Vintage Baby I love the colors and the fabric. Of course I had to include a book, one of my all time faves The Little House. If you haven't read it you must, it is beautifully written with amazing illustrations.

Thank You Carra!

Thriftin CO. Finds

So I did find some pretty good crafty thrift store treasures in the big CO.

I'm most pumped about these:

Colorado3

Coloradofinds2

I found these beauties at an ARC thriftstore. Terrycloth trains and lemons!!!! My blood pumps faster just thinking about it. I think the trains will be a little bathrobe for my fave guy and I'm thinking about a lemony terrycloth hoodie for myself

Bbwjacket

I also found this choice hankie to re-craft into something else

Coloradofinds1

I found this at the painfully hot flea market and I thought it said "Holla"  which I found really funny but after getting home I realized it said hello, which goes to show you that it was so hot I was hallucinating or I had sweat in my eyes

Thrift store magic

So if you haven't noticed this is my third post of the day. I'm post bingeing. If I go without posting for a few days you can spread them out.

I love thrift stores, yard sales, and most of all church rummage sales. The only thing I hate about church rummage sales is that they are alway cooking meatballs in a crockpot and that smell is the smell of slow cooked barf. My best finds of the summer have been:

#1 the KILN!!!!

Kiln

my mom has been talking about getting a kiln forever so she can fuse glass, have I mentioned she makes stained glass windows? anyway I just happened to stop by the goodwill and this was on bid and went off that very evening. ahh fate!

#2 my various shades of green teacups

Teacups

I can't wait to hang them on little hooks. I might have to try to recreate the look in the new kiln.

#3 my birds

Birds

I love white figures. and birds. these were completely covered in dust and yucky, probably from the meatballs, they now reside on a shelf in my sewing room.

#4 my vintage baby scale

Scale1

Scale2

I love the illustration on this scale, I've been using it to weigh the dog.

#5 yellow luster ware sugar dish

Yellowcup

I think the words "yellow luster ware" are enough

#6 my amazing quilted throw for a dime

10centblanket_1

a dime

#7 my vintage quilt

Quilt

Quilt2

the lady that I bought it from said her grandma made it when she was a girl...why she was selling her grandmas quilt for $5 I don't know but I like it

#8 Cowboy shirts

Cowboy

for my newest friend-in-laws upcoming birthday.

There were five count them five church rummage sales today! I love it. nothing better than ziplock bags full of ribbons, appliques, and rick rack. I also got great vintage children's books whose illustrations will soon become collages, buttons, and magnets. My favorite find of the day was a ziplock bag of magazines from the 50's called the workbasket six for $1. and I just had to share this hilarious advertisement that me and my mom thouroughly enjoyed

Burro

Everyone will want to pet your burrow! Guaranteed live delivery in their natural born colors.

Also today I had my mother take pictures of Tony amongst the lovely fall foliage at the Park because she takes lovely pics, I love candids and hate posed photos, and I can't afford to hire a photographer. She shot 6 rolls of film, and Tony loved roaming throught the trails, it made me wish that I lived somewhere with woods in my backyard, sigh*

Here are a few of my faves. no doubt I will post more later but for now I am off to bed.
